If cities can just opt out of immigration enforcement, what stops them from ignoring drug laws, gun laws, anything else they disagree with? You're basically legalizing nullification and that door swings both ways, people.

I get that people want to protect immigrants, I really do, but when local cops refuse to share info with ICE, actual dangerous people slip through the cracks. There are documented cases of serious crimes committed by people who should've been deported already.

The Supremacy Clause exists for a reason — federal law is the law of the land, full stop. A city mayor deciding which federal statutes to comply with is a constitutional crisis waiting to happen, not some brave act of resistance.
